What are you really saving for?

July truly is one of my favorite months. The pace of life slows down just enough that we can step away from the office, escape the everyday routine, and spend meaningful time together as a family. Every year, those trips leave me feeling refreshed, grateful, and emotionally full in a way that's hard to replicate any other time of year.

As I was reflecting on that this year, I realized it's exactly what I hope good financial planning provides for my clients. Money isn't the goal. Freedom is. The freedom to spend your time with the people you love, to create memories you'll carry for the rest of your life, and to focus on what matters most.

She lays out a few steps for how to do this, and notes it might take some trial and error, but eventually you can learn the true value of spending money!

What I've been up to lately

One of the highlights of our year is our family national park trip, and this July didn't disappoint. We added four new parks to our list, bringing our family total to 23. Every trip gives us new adventures, a few stories we'll be telling for years, and another chance to debate where each park belongs in our rankings...this trip did give us a new #1.

I'll be sharing our updated list soon. If we're not connected on social media, follow us here, or just reply to this email and I'll gladly send it your way.

April The Retire to Abundance Newsletter Move the Needle: I’ve had several conversations lately that all circle around the same thing: people are doing a lot of the “right” things…saving, investing, trying to be intentional…yet there’s still this feeling of, “Am I actually focusing on what matters most?” It’s easy to get pulled in a hundred different directions, especially with everything you hear about the market and the "newest, latest strategy".
