The Retire to Abundance Newsletter

Stay Informed

As the presidential election approaches, I understand that many of you have questions about its potential impact on your investment portfolios. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the media hype and political drama, but it’s important to stay grounded. We've done our homework and explored how elections can affect the markets. Dive into my blog below for insights and guidance to help you navigate this election season with confidence.

Will the Election Impact my Portfolio?

It's tempting to want to make drastic changes in a portfolio prior to or in response to big world changes. Indeed, volatility is ever present in the market and our sensitivity to it tends to be heightened in times like this. We are hard-wired to worry when change is imminent, and finances are often at the top of that list. So where does that leave us when it comes to our portfolio over the next few months?

Here's what I suggest:
→ Stick to the plan
→ Remember timing the market is a fool's errand
→ Diversify, diversify, diversify
→ Tune out all of the noise (media, I'm looking at you!)
→ Focus on what you can control

January The Retire to Abundance Newsletter Scamuary: If you’ve ever deleted an email promising a surprise inheritance or ignored a call about a frozen account you don’t have, congratulations, you’ve already met a scammer. Unfortunately, the scammers are getting better and have recently hit a little closer to home than we’d like. One of the advantages of working closely with clients is that nothing happens in isolation. When there’s a trusted relationship and clear processes in place, it’s...

December The Retire to Abundance Newsletter How to Retire to Abundance: When I talk about retiring to abundance, I am not talking about retiring with the biggest number on a statement or the most optimized social security claiming strategy (although they certainly don't hurt ☺️). I am talking about retiring with enough clarity and confidence to actually use the resources you worked decades to build. Most people I work with have done the saving part well. The harder part is learning how to...

November The Retire to Abundance Newsletter How to Treat Yourself: Every year about this time, I notice a familiar pattern. November shows up, the calendar fills itself, and suddenly the things we meant to get done “sometime this fall” are quietly sitting in the corner hoping we forgot about them. If you’re anything like me, you probably have a running list of “I’ll get to that later” items that somehow survived all the way to Thanksgiving. This has me thinking of one of Jordan Peterson’s 12...
